Cross border e-commerce personal testing! I was caught with a cold and cough for half a month, and my body was saved by Moxibustion
As a cross-border e-commerce merchant who deals with time difference, inventory and logistics every day, “poor health” seems to have become a “hidden label” in our business – we have to stare at background data and reply to overseas customer messages during the day, and we have to connect with the supply chain and handle sudden orders in the morning. Irregular meals are normal, and staying up late is even more common. Last month, a sudden cold directly dragged me into the dilemma of “ineffective medication”. Finally, I didn’t expect that it was the moxibustion left by my ancestors, which helped me slowly find my health.

About half a month ago, in the days when Beijing was cooling down, I stayed up all night for three consecutive days in order to catch a new Amazon Product on the shelves. One morning when I got up, my throat suddenly felt as if it had been worn by sandpaper, and then I began to cough. At first, I thought it was a small cold, so I took some cold medicine and went on working. But who knows, this cough can’t stop. During the day, I can’t concentrate on looking at the data. At night, when I lie on my back in bed, I cough to acid regurgitation, even breathing with chest pain.
I changed three kinds of cold medicine, two kinds of cough syrup, and even went to the clinic to prescribe antibiotics, but the symptoms did not ease at all. Looking at the customer inquiries piled up in the background and the stock reminders sent by the warehouse, I was so anxious that I had several bubbles in my mouth – cross-border business was most afraid of “shutdown”, but I coughed for a long time and couldn’t work normally. To tell the truth, I didn’t believe it at first – as a person who has been dealing with “overseas markets” all year round, I’m more used to relying on Western medicine’s “quick effect”, and I always feel a little “mysterious” about moxibustion’s “slow conditioning”. But coughing is really painful. I still used the moxibustion box and moxa stick my mother gave me. According to the acupoints my mother said, I used moxibustion for 30 minutes every day.

The first is Dazhui acupoint, which is just below the most prominent bone behind the neck. This acupoint can disperse cold and relieve symptoms. When I first started moxibustion, I felt a warm current running down my neck. After moxibustion that night, my cough was less frequent;

The second is Feishu point, which is located in the middle of the back scapula. It will be a little hot during moxibustion, but after enduring it, the chest pain will be significantly reduced. I usually use a moxibustion box without holding it up, so I won’t delay replying to customer messages;

The third is Tanzhong point, which is in the middle of the chest. This point can regulate qi and relieve cough. When I moxibustion, I will put a piece of ginger. It feels very comfortable to be warm. The next day after moxibustion, the sputum in the throat will be much less.

For a week like this, I didn’t take any cold medicine any more, and my cough was completely cured. I could keep an eye on the data and hold a selection meeting during the day, and I could sleep at night. Now think about it. In the past, I always felt that “busy” was an excuse, ignoring the physical signals. Until I was too sick to work with a cold, I realized that “health is the biggest capital of cross-border business”.
Finally, I would like to say to all cross-border e-commerce peers: we stare at the computer screen and calculate the profit statement every day, but often forget that our body is the “core asset”. If you are not in good health like me and occasionally get caught with a cold and cough, you might as well try moxibustion, a mild conditioning method. It doesn’t take too much time. It takes 30 minutes a day to regulate your body without delaying your work. After all, only when you are in good health can you run on cross-border tracks for a long time, right?
